The Buildings and Grounds Department is responsible for the upkeep, safety, and security of Lexington Public Schools.  The department oversees all new construction and renovations that take place as well as the highest regard for continued maintenance of the district.  The goal of the Buildings and Grounds Department is to provide the absolute best learning and working environment possible for all to use and enjoy.

The department oversees 11 building sites that have just under 520,000 square feet of buildings that sit on 75 acres of ground.  Lexington Public Schools have added over 100,000 square feet of additions and facilities since 2007.  This shows our continued commitment to all of our current students as well as those yet to come.
